Meet the Artisan and Pug behind the Craft
After a rewarding engineering career supporting America's warfighter, retirement gave me the opportunity to slow down, rediscover my creative side and return to my “crafty, girl scout” days.
Life in retirement revolves around many of the things I love most—pickleball, walks along the beautiful sandy beaches of Maine and Florida’s Gulf Coast, and spending time outdoors. After long days on the court or at the beach, I wanted a soap that not only felt luxurious but also helped wash away sunscreen, sand, and the day's adventures. That simple idea inspired me to begin crafting handmade loofah soaps that gently exfoliate while leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed, and renewed.
Coastal Pug Soap Co. is named for our beloved black pug, Rocco, who was the Barnes family companion for 17 wonderful years. He was loved by all who met him along the way and spent many a happy day in recent years on the sand of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
